Do I need wifi in the property?

No. The sensors use LoRaWAN, a radio network for small devices that sends small amounts of data over long distances and lasts for years on a single battery. They don’t connect to the tenant’s wifi, don’t use a SIM card, and don’t need to be paired with anything.

There are two ways to get a sensor online. If your address is covered by the public LoRaWAN network, the sensor works as soon as you set it up. If it isn’t, you buy a starter kit with a gateway that gives you coverage in your own property.

How do I know if my address has coverage?

Look up your address on the coverage map. If it’s covered, you only need the sensor and the subscription. If it isn’t, you’ll need a starter kit with a gateway.

How do I set up the sensor?

Wipe the wall, peel the tape off the back of the sensor, and press it firmly in place for 20 seconds. Then scan the QR code on the front, confirm the device ID, and enter the flat number. No tools, no tradesperson needed.

Get the flat number right — if it’s wrong, alerts go to the wrong address.

Does the sensor record sound or images?

No. The sensor measures temperature and humidity, and uses that to calculate the risk of damp and mould. It has no microphone or camera and doesn’t record who’s home.
