Do I need wifi in the property?
No. The sensors use LoRaWAN, a radio network for small devices that sends small amounts of data over long distances and lasts for years on a single battery. They don’t connect to the tenant’s wifi, don’t use a SIM card, and don’t need to be paired with anything.
There are two ways to get a sensor online. If your address is covered by the public LoRaWAN network, the sensor works as soon as you set it up. If it isn’t, you buy a starter kit with a gateway that gives you coverage in your own property.
